1. Introduction: What is B.Pharm?
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a 4-year undergraduate professional degree in pharmacy. It prepares students to work as pharmacists in hospitals, retail pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory bodies, or to pursue higher studies like M.Pharm or Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate).
B.Pharm graduates gain in-depth knowledge of drug formulation, production, quality control, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and community pharmacy practice.
2. Duration of B.Pharm
Course Length: 4 years (8 semesters) full-time.
Lateral Entry Option: For D.Pharm holders (2nd-year direct admission) — 3 years duration.
3 Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
Minimum aggregate marks: 50% (may vary by institute/state).
Some states conduct entrance exams (e.g., GPAT, state CETs); others admit through merit.

B.Pharm programs must be approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and/or All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
